Hi Guys! Why do YouTubers always start with that? It’s kind of a running joke in our house but believe me it is really hard not to say it! I recently took part in a little video about female influencers for International Women’s Day and as soon as I pressed record the words Hi Guys just fell out my mouth! So, brace yourself, because you’ll be hearing lots more Hi Guys from me over the course of this year as I have finally decided to join the wonderful world of YouTube!

I’ve had my channel for a while but never really had the time or skills to do anything with it. Actually I still don’t have the time or skills but hey ho, we’re going to go for it anyway! I have a bad habit of putting things off because I want them to be perfect but I’ve missed out on so many opportunities and experiences over the years because it wasn’t the perfect time or I felt I wouldn’t do it justice. So I figured bugger it; lets crack on, enjoy the journey, learn from your mistakes and all that jazz. I recently posted a quote by Zig Ziglar on my Facebook page that summed this up nicely.

“You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great”

To kick things off I made a little video of our walk in Fearnoch forest at the weekend. We’re very lucky to live in a beautiful part of the world and have so many forests and lochs on our doorstep. Madeleine & Thomas love exploring and on this particular walk Madeleine was following hoof prints that she was convinced would lead us to some wild unicorns! Sadly we didn’t see any of Scotland’s national animal but we did have a picnic in the intermittent sunshine so I’m counting that as a win.

As I said, I’m still learning when it comes to videos but I hope you enjoy my little introduction to the Nest & Dressed family and I’d love to know what kind of videos you’d like to see from me. More cinematic travel or days out? Day in the life vlogs? Q&As? Please do comment below or get in touch via Facebook or Twitter with your ideas. Also, if you know of any 30+ YouTubers I’d love to know about them! There doesn’t seem to be many about.
