Last month I was lucky enough to be asked to review The Glittery Hands Box, a brand new craft subscription box. Each month the box is themed and contains at least two reusable craft tools plus a variety of supplies such as sequins, glitter & buttons. April’s theme was Mermaid Lagoon and I was very excited to see what glittery goodies had landed on my doorstep…

The box was beautifully packaged & contained glitter (obviously!), sequins, an ink pad, anchor stamp, stencils, acrylic paint, iron-on glittery letters, stickers, heart buttons, anchor motif, a hair slide, patterned paper and a pin wheel.

I love that it’s not project based so although all the bits & bobs are related to that month’s theme you are not restricted to one particular craft. This means that you have lots of different supplies to add to your craft stash for future projects and you get real value for money thanks to the reusable items.

My creative cogs soon started turning and I raided my craft cupboard to make a cute hair slide for Madeleine (although I may steal it for myself!). I used fabric glue to stick a piece of ribbon across the top of the hair slide as a base and then added the anchor motif and heart buttons from The Glittery Hands Box along with some other buttons and beads from my stash. Isn’t it sweet? I have plans for the iron-on letters & sequins so watch this space!

The theme for May’s box is Cosmic Adventure but subscriptions have now closed. If you want to get in on the crafty action then follow The Glittery Hands Box on Twitter and Instagram so you don’t miss out on the next round of boxes. The cost is £18 plus P&P for a one off box or £15 plus P&P if subscribed. As a special treat you can get 20% off your first box when you subscribe before June 1st using the code GLITTER12.

I’m still not sure what to do with the glitter, stamp & paper. Any ideas?
