Confession time: I hate skinny jeans. I just find them so damn uncomfortable and utterly impractical. Don’t get me wrong, I have owned plenty of pairs in the past but I can’t say wearing them was a pleasant experience. I couldn’t bend over for fear of cutting off circulation to my lower legs (my thighs were already numb from their denim tourniquet) and inevitably I’d end up with a builders bum every time I sat down. It was pretty disagreeable for all involved, to be honest.

Thankfully, recent trends have been kinder to those of us above a size 10 and the wonder that is Lycra has now made it’s way into many a pair of highstreet jeans. Boyfriend jeans became a thing, as did Mom jeans (why can’t we just have our own jeans?) and I’m told the bootcut trend is back but I’m yet to see that make it’s way to rural Scotland! My favourite of all the denim trends, however, has to be the high waist. Thank you, thank you, thank you to whoever made that mainstream! I can finally say goodbye builder’s bum and tuck in the mum-tum!

So with this in mind I headed over to www.simplybe.co.uk to check out their collection of super stretchy jeans that start at a size 10 and go up to a 32. I wasn’t disappointed and found a few pairs that fit the bill but unfortunately I got a little distracted and ended up with a ridiculous amount of items in my basket…ooops!

Roll on payday so I can get this little lot ordered…

Clockwise from left: Drew pearl jeans now £29 | Love jumper £26 | Mollie leather sandals now from £11.50
