I thought I’d follow on from last month’s review of New Lanark World Heritage Site with a quick look at what I wore on day one. It’s not particularly glamorous but this is my reality: hair shoved in a ponytail, glasses on because I keep forgetting to order more contact lenses and comfy shoes for running after two semi-feral children.

We were spending a few hours in the car before walking around the site so a comfortable, practical outfit was the order of the day. As it is most days, in fact! I’ve had this fluffy jumper from Next for a couple of years now but not really worn it much. I found it a little too short to wear with jeans or trousers but I love the back detail so I was rather chuffed with myself when I thought of tucking it into a skirt.

My trusty chambray skirt from Oasis has served me well since I bought it in London last June. It was one of the pieces I bought during a personal stylist appointment at their Tottenham Court Road store and I wore it to the Blogtacular conference the next day. I’m a big fan of Oasis so I’ll definitely be visiting again on my annual trip to London. Has anyone else got their Blogtacular 2017 ticket? I had such a good time last year; I can’t wait to do it all again!

If you’re a regular reader you’ll know that I’m a big fan of Next’s kid’s pumps. The ‘older girls’ range goes up to an adult size 7 and they always have really cute designs. This is my most recent pair but I’ve been eyeing up a gorgeous embroidered pair, too.

These photos were taken in our room at New Lanark Mill Hotel just before we went for a swim & then stuffed ourselves silly in the restaurant. The food was so good! If you missed our review of New Lanark you can catch up here.
